Our Redeemer’s offers movies for youth, kids, and families monthly on a Saturday afternoon. These gatherings offer entertainment, connection, and meaningful conversation.
POPCORN AND REELS: On Saturday, June 7, at 4:30 pm, join us for a family-friendly movie showing of “Nimona,” a story of a shapeshifting kid and a back-stabbed hero fighting against society’s misunderstandings of them. We will have drinks, snacks, and a post-movie, Pride-oriented conversation about what it’s like to not fit into social expectations, how hard it is to be judged when you don’t, and how much of a difference it makes when we stand up for each other.
FAITH IN ACTION ON SCREEN: In the theme of Pride Month, we will host a documentary showing on Saturday, June 21, at 4:30 pm of “Stonewall Uprising.” The film explores the riot that birthed the gay rights movement, the pressure that made such an uprising necessary, and the incredibly hostile climate into which it emerged. We will have drinks, snacks, and a post-movie discussion about what it’s like to have our humanity denied and the lengths to which we sometimes have to go to fight for it. Teen+ audience only.
