Pride Parade Sunday, June 29 | Downtown Seattle
The season of PRIDE begins June 1st, and we have some ways of celebrating the ways God makes us, and calls us through diverse personhood across this great big, blue ellipsoid. We take this moment to celebrate, witness, and proclaim God’s diverse world and all its peoples! We will have a colorful way of marking the season in our worship space, as is tradition. We will also feature a documentary on June 21 with a discussion, focused on the origins of Pride and the events surrounding Stonewall. On June 7, we’ll be hosting a more family-friendly film, focused on identity. Starting June 8, we’ll have a Faith Formation project everyone can be part of creating!
Pride Sunday is June 29, and after our Sunday service at 10:00 am, those who have signed up will make our way over to the Seattle Pride parade staging area. Details about our place in the order of the parade, travel details, and other relevant information will be shared, once it is received.
The Northwest Washington Synod will be marching as a synod group of Loving Lutherans in the Seattle PRIDE parade. Space is limited to 200 walkers–first come, first served. The Parade begins at 11:00 am, and we will likely have time to meet there before our group steps off.
Please let Pastor Thomas (pastorthomas@ourredeemers.net) know that you’d like to walk, how many people you are signing up, your cell phone information, an email address, and the relevant names/contact information as needed (if registering others). If you need help with transportation, serve as a guide by light rail, or provide a ride, please let us know ASAP. Register by June 16
If you’d like a Progress Pride bandana featuring the original rainbow colors and added colors representing people of color, as well as people who are transgender, intersex, or non-binary, contact Pastor Thomas for purchase. Cost is $5.00.
