What says “summer” more than seeing kids on their bikes? My daily bike route growing up was to the nearby church parking lot and its later where I taught my younger brother to ride. Church parking lots and bike lessons go together for me like PB&J. Perhaps that is why I’m so excited that Our Redeemer’s is partnering with Pedalheads to bring bike camp to the community. Their learn-to-ride bike program is best known for helping kids ages 2-12 get off training wheels and safely ride on the road. Their program includes:
A progression of six instructional levels
Three-hour half-day camps
Seven-hour all-day camps
Private lessons
Before and after care options
Kids get lots of time on their bikes learning and playing games, navigating obstacle courses, and challenging themselves with a variety of activities in a safe environment. Kids also take bathroom, snack, and water breaks to ensure they stay hydrated and engaged.
The first day of Pedalheads bike camp, held in Our Redeemer’s parking lot, is June 20th and registration is open until the Sunday prior. These weekly classes fill up quickly so if you are interested in enrolling, go to their website: www.pedalheads.com.
