SUMMARY:Lenten F(e)asts Together
DESCRIPTION:F(e)asts Together: Food\, Fellowship\, Formation \n6:30 PM | February 20\, 27\, March 6\, 13\, 20\, 27 | Cafe Munir\, 2408 NW 80th St. (and other locations TBD) \nLent has traditionally been a time of fasting\, but it has also been a time of communal sharing. Fasting\, historically\, has been practiced as a communal activity rather than an individual one. From the shared meals at the end of Ramadan to seasonal eating within communities\, \nthe focus has often been on togetherness\, humility\, and acknowledging our dependence on each other and God’s creation. Lent gives us the opportunity to practice humility and community\, not just individually but together as a church family. \nContinuing our practice from last year of meeting for dinner on Friday evenings during Lent (excluding Good Friday)\, we invite you to join in a time of meaningful interaction and conversation at a local eatery! Our first gathering will be at Cafe Munir on 80th Street at 6:30 pm. (Subsequent location can be determined at our first gathering.)  \nThe course of conversation will be mindful eating: becoming what we eat – shared stories of food\, family\, and faith-inspired practices around our tables. \nRSVP to Pastor Thomas (pastorthomas@ourredeemers.net) so he can reserve seats for the group! If cost is a concern\, resources are available to help\, as needed.
