Connect at Our Redeemer’s
Youth and adults alike are invited to join together in learning, spirituality, and community. Invest in our intergenerational community through the following opportunities. You can explore more on our Grow in Service and Grow in Spirit pages.
The Library offers many thought-provoking resources. Stop in to dig into the backstory of a Bible passage, find a great book to read your child or pick up a novel or a piece of challenging non-fiction.
Our Redeemer’s has a tiny prayer chapel just off the front of our sanctuary with candles, stained glass, and written prayer resources like Bibles and devotionals. Breathe deep and spend a few moments of quiet in this space.
Bible study (Wednesdays at 11:00 a.m)
This class meets in the Library every Wednesday morning. Contact Carolyn Swanson to learn more.
Lectio Divina (Second Sunday of the month, 7:15-8:00 p.m)
Based on an ancient monastic practice, Lectio Divina is an opportunity to engage with the Bible by listening with guided questions: “What word or phrase sticks out to me?” “What truth is God speaking to me?” “What action might God be calling me to take this week?”
Come once, once in a while or every month for a practice that helps us find center and calm. No previous Bible knowledge is necessary. Get in touch with Margaret Wetter to learn more about Lectio Divina, or visit our calendar for detailed information on the next gathering.
Compline (Second Sunday of the month at 8:00 p.m., October-June)
Begin the new week in peace.
Enter a dim and quiet space for a half hour of calm worship in our sanctuary. Based on a service that originated in the 6th century, Compline acknowledges the completion of the day with reflection, silence and spiritual peace. Often featuring guest musical groups, this service is a wonderful way to conclude the Sabbath and welcome the coming week.
Stay after Compline for wine, non-alcoholic beverages and refreshments in the adjoining library.
