Our Redeemer’s Youth

Laugh. Learn. Serve. Grow.

Serving God. Building community. Growing together.

Young people are important and active members of our life together at Our Redeemer’s. Their voices are heard and their perspectives valued as they engage in discussion as equal partners within our congregation. Youth and adult volunteers work together to plan a mixture of get-togethers, service projects and accompaniment mission trips that connect us to God, to our neighborhood and to our world. It doesn’t matter what interests, goals, beliefs or questions you bring to Our Redeemer’s. Just bring yourself and be yourself. You are welcome here.

Summer Service Trip

High School youth at Our Redeemer’s are committed to living out our faith for the life of the world. Visit our blog and photo gallery to learn about our past trips.

Confirmation (7th and 8th grade)

Confirmation is an opportunity to explore our faith by learning about God, caring for the world and getting to know each other and ourselves. 7th and 8th grade youth meet during the fall and spring for workshops, service projects, social events and visits to other faith communities. Our week at Camp Lutherwood is the highlight of the year!

Two years in confirmation prepare participants to decide whether they will publicly affirm their faith and commit to following Jesus’s way. They might not wish to or be ready to—and that’s okay. We believe it is better to make a real, personal decision than simply go through the motions.

If young people choose to be confirmed, they participate in a special service followed by a banquet. Our whole community celebrates these unique and wonderful individuals.

Connect at Our Redeemer’s

Youth and adults alike are invited to join together in learning, spirituality, and community. Invest in our intergenerational community through the following opportunities. You can explore more on our Grow in Service and Grow in Spirit pages.

The Library

The Library offers many thought-provoking resources. Stop in to dig into the backstory of a Bible passage, find a great book to read your child or pick up a novel or a piece of challenging non-fiction.

Prayer Chapel

Our Redeemer’s has a tiny prayer chapel just off the front of our sanctuary with candles, stained glass, and written prayer resources like Bibles and devotionals. Breathe deep and spend a few moments of quiet in this space.

Bible study (Wednesdays at 11:00 a.m)

This class meets in the Library every Wednesday morning. Contact Carolyn Swanson to learn more.

“Our youth really care about each other and lean in to every experience they encounter.”
